My Little Pumpkin

Last year, we took our little bumblebee to a pumpkin patch. It was way too cold for antennas, so he donned his warm pumpkin hat instead.

A Little Something Sweet

Don't you just want to eat them up?!?! These are some of my best friends with their sweet daughters modeling the scrumptious cupcake hat. It comes complete with sprinkles and a cherry on top! The cupcake "wrapper" can be made in a variety of different flavors (aka colors). Get one for your sweet little thing today!

It's Football Time!

Just in Time for football season! These cute little hats can be made in any of your favorite team colors. Or even go for the vintage football helmet look as featured on my cutie pie in the last picture.

Welcome to Small Stitch Knits

Welcome to Small Stitch Knits! I am so excited to offer these hand-knitted (with love) hats for babies and toddlers. My road to knitting started several years ago when I started dating my now husband, who is an avid football (or should I say any sport on TV) fan. He thought that watching a football game with him was  totally romantic! Well, I sure thought differently. While I love sports, I do not enjoy sitting on a couch for hours on end watching play after play after play after... Let's just say I have trouble sitting still in one place for awhile. I feel lazy if I am not doing something! So, in order to fulfill my husband's idea of a romantic night of football watching, I decided to learn how to knit. Yes, I was still "sitting" there, but at least I was accomplishing something! At first I made a hat, then a scarf, than another hat, and on and on it went... I was addicted. My mother, also an avid knitter and football fan, discovered that now her knitting & football game-watching time was a little less enjoyable. Why you ask? Because her phone was now ringing off the hook with me asking knitting questions! "Mom, how do you fix a dropped stitch? Mom, I ran out of yarn? Mom, I think it's the wrong size! Mom, what is this pattern saying?" Thank you, Mom, for being so patient with me & teaching me all of the ins and outs of the knitting world!  Knitting is complete "therapy" for me. I love the feeling of accomplishment after I have finished a project. I love to see a child wearing the hat I made for them. I have always dreamed of having some kind of artistic gene (no thanks to my mom/dad I did not get this gene). I guess this is as close as I will get. I hope you enjoy perusing the hats. In the meantime, you can guarantee that I am knitting away while my husband thinks he is on his "romantic" TV-watching date.
